Timeless VS. Trendy

5 top picks for a timeless wardrobe…

It is very difficult to keep up with the trends because they are constantly changing. So if we are constantly chasing them, we will always be in debt!! For the most part, we don’t go out shopping every day, some of us don’t even go every month! I would love for all of us to get the most out of our wardrobes, so today, I want to give you a few items you should really invest in when shopping and which ones you can totally pass up on!! You want your entire closet to be TIMELESS. This means having classic pieces that you can essentially style with anything.

  1. Good pair of JEANS! – Jeans are good for dinners, outings, events, errands, date nights, ANYTHING. This is because you can dress them up or dress them down. You want to invest in a good pair of jeans because you will wear them and re-wear them time and time again. So you want to make sure they will resist your washing machine.
  2. Classic White Shirt – This could mean a buttoned down, a blouse (silk, cotton)…anything that is good quality and white. Again, this classic piece can go with anything and transitions well from day to night.
  3. Pencil Skirt – My preference for this is faux leather but it can basically be any material in a cream color or black. I love pencil skirts because they are so elegant and make us shorties seem a tad bit taller.
  4. Little Black Dress (LBD) – A LBD is crucial for a timeless wardrobe! Not much needed to say about this, except we all NEED that one perfect LBD to save us from the dreaded “I have nothing to wear” phrase!
  5. Jean Jacket – My last piece of clothing that I feel is timeless and can complete your wardrobe is a really good jean jacket. You would be surprised at how easy a jean jacket transforms your outfit. Wear it during the day and just flip that collar up for a chic night time outing.

So there you have it!! My top 5 picks of timeless pieces that you should invest in. All the other trendy clothes that comes and goes, you can just buy here and there without breaking the bank. Because remember, the trend will pass.

PS. – we are not talking about shoes or handbags…this is strictly wardrobe. I would say investing in ONE good pair of shoes is always a good idea.
