TIPS TO UNDERPACKING

So I am one to ALWAYS overpack. I always think, “what if I don’t like this outfit” or “what if we go out to eat somewhere that’s more casual or fancy.”  I like to have options. However, you can start to add extra items that you just don’t need and when vacation is over, get ready for your laundry day to turn into a laundry fest!

I have come up with a few tips to save you from overpacking but making sure you are prepared for whatever your travels may bring.

1. Map out each of your days and the plans you have. Most of the time, whatever outfit you have during the day translates into your evening wear. This will help you see exactly what you will need.

2. Lay your clothes out so you have a better idea of what shoes and jewelry look best with your outfit. Sometimes,  we just put in extra tops for the jeans just in case you don’t like how it comes together. But if you do this step at home, you will avoid taking the extra clothes.

3. When it comes to makeup, we usually have a wide selection to choose from. So in order to condense, try to pack a multipurpose palette. This will save you from extra products, brushes and space!

4. Try to leave with a pair of shoes that you know you will be using for everyday.  We underestimate the power of sneakers. It’s super chic to even wear them with your dresses and skirts. This way, you really only need one pair of evening shoes that go with any outfit.

Lastly, go through your list of toiletries in actual order from the moment you get in the shower to the moment you get out so you don’t miss anything and take only what you really use daily.

Hope this helps all you OVER packers like me!!
